Are you an animal lover, or do you know someone who is? Then this adorable animal themed needlepoint kit by Ellie Tzoni is perfect for you! It combines different types of animals in a fun drawing style, filled with bright colorful tones.

Get it for you or for a friend, and this design would also make for a lovely nursery decoration! This needlepoint kit is available in two different sizes, Small or Medium, so you can choose the one that's best for you!

 

What is included in the “Complete Needlepoint Kit” option 

  • Original artwork printed in premium Zweigart Interlock 13 HPI canvas, with edges sewed with cotton bias tape, available in 2 sizes:
    • 15x20 cm / 5.9x7.8 in 
    • 20x26 cm / 7.8x10.2 in
  • 2 John James tapestry needles
  • Flyer with the color threads mapping so you can start stitching quickly.
  • DMC Soft Cotton (Retors Mat) threads with enough quantity to stitch with the continental tent stitch (if you need more thread, let us know in advance)
  • Needlepoint booklet with instructions on starting needlepoint, tips for selecting needlepoint stitches, and a library of favorite stitches
  • Our bespoke tube packaging, portable and sustainable, perfect for gifting

    When you buy the “Printed canvas only” option, all the above is included except the threads, and just a single needle. It’s the perfect option if you want to create your own color variation, or re-use threads and yarn you might have at home!

    Product FAQs

    Yes, absolutely! All kits come with a printed needlepoint booklet, which contains instructions on how to get started. We suggest to visit our "How to Needlepoint" page for videos tutorials and detailed instructions. Check also our Beginners collection, with the best projects for you to get started with Needlepoint!

    Most of the needlepoint decorative stitches require less thread than the continental tent stitch.

    Some of the few exceptions where you’ll need more thread are: Basketweave Tent stitch, Encroaching Gobelin, French knots.

    If the decorative stitch you want to use contains sections that when stitching intersect with more than 1 hole, then most certainly it won’t require more thread than the continental tent stitch (with which you need to stitch every hole).

    The larger the stitch is, the less thread will require!

    In the case you already know that you are going to use the basketweave stitch, please let us know in advance and we'll include more thread before shipping your package.

    You don't need to use a needlepoint frame, but you can if you want!

    This comes down to each stitcher’s personal preference, and you can easily stitch your needlepoint without a frame, if you don't have one. In this blog post we’ll show you the differences between stitching with and without a frame, and the advantages of each technique.

    The first process is to apply Blocking to your finished canvas, in case it is distorted. Check our detailed blog post where we explain all the steps for blocking.

    Then you need to select which finished product you want to obtain (ideally this needs to be considered before starting the stitching).
