What it is: DMC's silky, twisted cotton thread: the classic choice for making your own needlepoint cording, and lovely for adding texture to your stitching.

Details: 100% cotton, non-divisible, 15 m (16 yd) per skein. Best suited to 13 mesh canvas, and works on 10 to 14 mesh. One skein makes the cording for one ornament of about 10–12 cm (4–5 in) round.

Best For: Handmade cording for ornaments and cushions, and decorative stitches with a raised, lustrous finish.

The Tahitian Pearl is a beautiful color and this is the result of my first time making cording! The color has an under color of grey and looks nice with one of the darker blue velvets I bought for a backing project. I followed the cording tutorial and it was quite easy. I used 6 strands and I think 4 times around plus a loop is too much cording…next time I will do 3. All in all very pleased
