Inspired by Henri Matisse's painting “The Sheaf,” we have designed this needlepoint PDF chart featuring the iconic patterns of Matisse's famous cutouts.

This pattern contains a chart for 3 different bookmarks (pictured in the images), but you can create unique designs by combining the cutouts in the chart to create your own bookmark version!

Please note that this is a counted needlepoint (or cross-stitch) canvas, so you don’t have the design printed but rather a charted design pattern to guide you when stitching.

What is included when you buy the PDF Chart only:

  • PDF with the Charted design, containing:
    • Printable pattern that enables creating 3 or more different bookmarks
    • Materials list
    • How to start instructions
  • PDF of our Needlepoint Booklet with instructions on starting needlepoint, tips for selecting needlepoint stitches, and a library of favorite stitches.

What is included in the PDF Chart Complete Kit with Finishing Materials:

  • All the items from the complete kit (A4 blank canvas and printed chart, threads to create 3 bookmarks, 2 needles, booklet, and bespoke packaging)
  • 3 pieces of self-adhesive velvet fabric for the backing, measuring the same size as the printed design size
  • 3 skeins of DMC soft cotton for the binding stitch. Please refer to the image in the product gallery to check the color of the extra skein

The PDF is available for download right after the order is placed so that you can get creating in no timing! You'll also get an e-mail with a link for the download.

  • Learn how to count your chart/canvas: Always think of the squares as intersections in your needlepoint canvas, instead of the actual holes of the canvas.
  • Find the center: To find the center of the canvas and the chart, you can either fold them in 4, or you can use a ruler to cross out the center, by tracing the diagonals.
  • Start in the middle, or count to the area where you want to start: Starting in the center is the easiest way to begin stitching with a needlepoint chart, because it's your strongest point of reference.
  • Understand the color map: Using the color map you can match each square with the labeled color.

Note that digital items are non-refundable.
