Behind the Scenes: Our Team's Mental Health Day Needlepoint Project
What it is: A Unwind Studio team project where each of us designed our own needlepoint kit around a personal quote or word.
Who made it: The whole Unwind Studio team - ten designs, ten very different stories.
Why we did it: To mark 2026 World Mental Health Day, a date at the heart of why Unwind Studio exists.
Also in this post: Our World Mental Health Day 2026 campaign, with a free "Yes, I Am" key fob (October 10-12 2026).
World Mental Health Day 2026: Our "Yes, I Am" Campaign
This year, our team also sat together and asked each other: how would you describe yourself in just one word? It was a reminder that we're all navigating our own stories and learning to be gentle with ourselves along the way.
Words carry a lot of weight, especially the ones we say to ourselves. So this year's campaign is all about that, and we turned that moment into something you can carry with you: a "Yes, I Am" needlepoint key fob.
One side says "Yes, I am". The other is left totally blank, for you to stitch the exact word you need to hear most right now. And don't worry: we're including an alphabet chart to help you map it out easily.
Because whatever your word is, you are trying, and you deserve a daily reminder you can carry everywhere you go.
The offer:
- When: October 10th to October 12th, 11:59 PM (GMT+1) 2026
- 15% OFF on all orders
- Free gift: every order above 30€ includes the "Yes, I Am" key fob canvas, while stock lasts
Make sure you grab yours before it's gone! 💚
Behind the Scenes: Our Team's Mental Health Day Needlepoint Project
Hi friends!
Come with us while we tell you all about our team's Mental Health Day project. Every year, we do a little something to mark this day that means so much to us and to our business. This year, something even more special happened.
Why World Mental Health Day Means So Much to Us
Unwind Studio started during a period of real burnout, when our founder, Cristina, picked up needlepoint to quiet her mind…and the rest was history. That's why this day sits at the very foundation of our business, and why we always want to celebrate it with you.
How the Project Started
It all started with a therapy session our teammate Filipa had. She was working on defining a few personal phrases: anchors to help get her through tough, overwhelming moments. When she shared the idea with the team, she proposed that we turn it into a team activity.
So we each designed our own needlepoint kit from scratch, picked our own color palettes, and centered the piece around a quote that gives us strength or comfort in our daily lives.
It was such a special journey to see everyone gathering inspiration and to hear the stories behind each design. It gave us the opportunity to open up and listen to each other while creating something deeply personal.
The Designs and the Words We Live By
Here's a look at what each of us made, and the story behind it.
Cátia:
Cátia chose the saying "you have time", a gentle permission slip to slow down. There's no deadline for becoming who you want to be, and no finish line you're already late for. Around those words, she stitched all the little elements that make her who she is.

Lu:
Lu chose to build her design around the word "coragem" (courage, in English). It's a Portuguese word that means a lot to her. She has always been a shy girl who blushes very easily, and for a long time that made her self-conscious. It was an insecurity.
Today, she looks at the word differently. "Coragem" holds "cora", from "corar" (to blush), and "agem", a form of "agir" (to act). As if the color of a blush is exactly what made her who she is, and what taught her to embrace that insecurity and act anyway.

Mariana:
This is the life motto Mariana tries to live by. For a long time, she held herself back from many things she wanted to do because she felt so insecure. Now she's found that doing them is exactly what made her feel more confident, and more like herself. She even has "oops" tattooed as a reminder.
Cheers to a life well lived, and with no "what ifs" (or as few as possible).

Filipa:
Many times, Filipa found herself saying "I can't do this", "I can't do that", "I can't, I can't, I can't..." But the reality is: "I actually can." She actually can do a lot of things, and she has already come so far.
So she chose this phrase to help her never forget how much she has already achieved and how many difficult times she has overcome, and that she just has to keep going and keep believing in herself. With will, we can go anywhere and do anything.

Inês:
Inês went for a Disney-themed design, and it's her perfect match. She finds herself in that enchanted world where no dream is ever too big, and where the strength to achieve them comes on her own terms. She even leveled it up by removing the prince charming's hand from the scene. A true power move.

Ana:
We spend so much energy on the "what if" that goes wrong. Ana's design flips the question around: and what if it all works out? What if the thing we've been worrying about turns out better than we ever imagined? It's a small shift, but it turns a spiral into a spark of hope, and it's the thought she wants within reach on the days it's hardest to believe it.

Rui:
Rui found his perfect match with this one. It's a reminder to embrace all parts of ourselves, because they are what make us, us. Don't be afraid to stand out from the crowd, and embrace the love of doing it.

Cristina:
Cristina decided to eternalize this mantra: overthink the good stuff. If our minds are going to run in circles anyway, why not give them something lovely to chew on?

Lena:
Lena chose to portray a sea turtle with the word "acredita" ("believe", in English). Turtles are her favorite animal, and they bring her calm and peace. The word felt like the perfect companion: believing in yourself, in the slow progress, in the path you're on, even when the shore is nowhere in sight. Like a turtle, you get there at your own pace.

Susana:
Susana translated herself into a lovebird, with the quote "shit happens, move on". For her, birds have this skill completely mastered: they let things go and simply carry on with their day, light as a feather. The bird choice has a sweet story behind it too, since her grandpa used to have one.

Hope you loved the final results as much as we did! We each have our own little anchor to hold onto, and a deeply personal reminder that no matter what comes our way, we're always here to support one another.
