Double Hungarian Stitch

The Double Hungarian Needlepoint Stitch is a variation of the Hungarian Stitch. This stitch adds extra rows of stitches to create a denser and more textured pattern.

Stitch Details

Double Hungarian Stitch Instructions & Diagram

You can see the diagram of this stitch below. 
  • It is made up of groups of two vertical stitches over two canvas threads from bottom to top, and two vertical stitches over four canvas threads
  • First make one group over two canvas threads, then a group over four canvas threads, and at the end another over two canvas threads
  • This will create one group of stitches, to make the second of the row you will need to leave two canvas holes in the middle (where the larger stitches of the top and bottom row will be inserted)
