The Needlepoint Tressed Stitch is an interesting decorative stitch that creates a woven pattern, similar to knitted texture.
Tressed Stitch Instructions & Diagram
This stitch-style needlepoint is made of diagonal stitches, in rows of alternate directions, that don't intersect. Stitch the alternating rows from side to side, leaving one empty square in between each stitch.
Be mindful when changing rows, so that the new stitches align correctly with the ones already stitched, to achieve the desired effect. It is helpful to follow this diagram!
